Post 8, English languaje challenges

 

The pandemic caused the English classes to be by zoom and starting next year they will be face to face but this year I finish the 4 semesters of English so I will never have the experience of attending a face to face English class.

This time I have learned a lot of English. My boyfriend speaks perfect English and he has told me that he is surprised with my progress and that I have learned much more than I knew before taking the English semesters although I still have to improve.

The teacher told me that I need to learn to pronounce in English and recommended me to practice speaking out loud so that I can listen to my pronunciation so I can realize if I am pronouncing well or badly and the other thing is to learn the verbs in English since many times I can't finish the sentences because I don't know or I don't remember which verb to use.

My favorite bands sing in English so I usually use English to sing but in private because I sing badly and my English is not perfect and that motivates me to improve in English besides the fact that it is not pleasant when movies or series don't have Spanish subtitles and I have to watch them in the original language and I don't understand anything.

English is the universal language and if you ever travel abroad you should know English because it is not the idea to go to all the tourist places and struggle trying to explain something to the locals and they don't understand what you are saying.

Post 7, Changes to my study programme

 

The University of Chile is one of the best in our country along with the Catholic University, its teaching methods help to bring out many future professionals. Aesthetics is the only thing that is not in its favor since it has not been renovated in more than 20 years its internal structure is still made of asbestos which was a construction material used in houses in the last century but it is toxic if inhaled. Fortunately there have been no incidents because it is encapsulated in the walls of the university but it is a problem that must be fixed because if the walls crumble the asbestos will come out and can endanger those who are in the place.

The university has many damages caused by the passage of time, moisture, wear of the paint, the wood on the second floor creaks when you step on it as if it were going to collapse, the electricity system needs to be redone because some lights give the impression that at any moment they will fall on us and the university does not even have medical supplies for small accidents such as cuts, scrapes, once by accident I cut my finger in class and fortunately a classmate had band-aids because when I asked in the secretary's office they had nothing.

The classrooms and workshops need new instruments and remodeling of spaces since some of the machinery is very worn out and old, which means double the work as opposed to modern machinery.

It is true that remodeling and upgrades cost a lot of money but the end result will be worth it.

Post 6, Time travel to the future

 

I have seen the movie back to the future but I would not travel to any of those times in which the plot takes place but I would like to travel to prehistory more specifically to the cretaceous period since it was in that period that the tyrannosaurus lived which is my favorite dinosaur.

Once I get there I would make sure to get there early in the morning around 10 am to take advantage of all the time I can before it gets dark because if I stay until night or I wouldn't be able to see anything even if I brought a flashlight and I don't want to imagine what would happen if I accidentally step on a sleeping dinosaur.

It is not only the danger that makes me not want to stay in the Cretaceous but also I could not live without my family I have already made my life here in this place and in this time and I want to stay here even if it changes as the years go by.

I only wish I could take a picture of a tyrannosaurus and if that is not possible I will be happy if I can at least see one since the dinosaurs we know are only representations that give an idea of what they could have looked like physically.

Post 5 , My future job

 I have always liked the world of animation, that's why if I could work for a company dedicated to the production of animated series it would be a dream come true.

It is true that one can be an independent animator but it is more difficult because making animations costs a lot of money if we think about the time of work, the payment to those who will do the voices of the characters in the animation, paying the cost of the virtual tools to animate etc.. That's why many independent animators need sponsors or donations from fans to achieve their projects, unlike animators who work for a company that gives them all the means they need to air the animation.

I am working on a project to be part of a team of independent animators, I am not interested in money or fame I just want to participate so that the world knows this great team and their incredible work of which I want to be part and I feel I am prepared for this world of animation.

I don't have a degree in animation or professional instruction, but I have been learning on my own for the last 7 years and the 5 years I have been studying visual arts at the University of Chile have made me the artist that I am.

I still have 2 years left to finish my career and it is very important for me to become a visual artist because I love the art world and that love and learning I am going to transmit it in the world of animation.

Working in a studio or at home and having fun with my work team, seeing the amazed faces of the viewers, being most of the time in the studio without having to do a lot of traveling for work in a few words being in paradise.

Post 4, I wish I was a millionaire and I could fly

I want to fly I want to take off from the ground and soar as high as I can and let myself fall without fear to finally land safely on the ground but it is impossible for me to get real wings and fly like birds I mean only in science fiction movies it is possible but not in reality the only thing closer to wings are jetpacks and I would love to have one but they are very expensive and you need a permit to have a jetpack.

Talking about money that's another thing on my list I wish I had a lot of money and use it in many ways, but mainly to help those who need it because money doesn't make me happy what would make me happy is knowing that I can use it to do good.

Although I am not a millionaire I know that I can help in any way as in one occasion when a street magician was trying to show his magic but the public was not interested and not even an applause received when I saw the situation I could only think how could they have so much lack of empathy with who is trying to show his talent so I stood up from my chair and applauded him.

Although I have not been able to fly or be a millionaire literally I have been able to be one from my heart my family says that inside I am gold and that makes me feel like a millionaire also happiness is made by the people around us all the people I love make me rise to the sky with their love and the love I feel for my loved ones.

My boyfriend is the one who has my wish list saved because I decided that he is the guardian of my wishes so only with him I will share my wishes but maybe with my parents I can give them permission to read my list.

Post 3, My favorite movie

 

The truth is that I watch more series than movies even so I like to watch movies I like 2D animation movies because I like to see how a flat drawing can move fluidly it takes a lot of work to achieve natural movements in an animated character I feel that watching this kind of movies helps me to learn how to make animations.

Perfect Blue is the movie that I like to watch over and over again I could say that I have seen it about 20 times in total and I never get tired of watching it that's why it is the last movie I have seen these days even if it is repeated but it is my favorite.

Perfect Blue has been chosen as one of the best anime movies of all time, its genre is psychological thriller so it is recommended for people over 18 years old because it contains scenes of violence.

It tells the madness of a former idol harassed by a mysterious fan the protagonist falls into a deep depression that leads her to rethink her life and career, but her crisis worsens when she finds that fiction is reproduced in her real life dream and reality are confused to the point of questioning her own identity the development of events and her own intuition will lead the protagonist to an absolutely unexpected outcome.

I do not want to give more spoilers because otherwise I can end up telling the ending and the idea is that viewers experience the plot of Perfect Blue see it you will not regret it.

Post 2, One Direction’s concert in Chile

It was April 30, 2014, that day I went to school and at about 10:00 a.m. my dad went to pick me up from class and left me at my cousin’s house because both of us along with a friend of my cousin would go to the concert of the boy band One Direction composed by Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, their musical style revolves around pop, dance pop, teen pop and pop rock. In 2015 Zayn Malik left the group and finally in 2018 the band broke up although today there are rumors of a possible reunion of the band but the latter is not certain.

My cousin’s friend’s father left us outside The National Stadium because we had to line up and at about 13:00 the doors of The National Stadium opened and we could enter to find our seats.

The place was crowded and noisy, that day the weather was changeable, it was hot and then it was cold, but nothing was going to discourage us.

The wait was long because the concert was supposed to start at 20:15 and it was only 14:00, but it was fun because we had brought food and the 3 of us talked and laughed a lot and at one point among all present in the Stadium we practiced “The wave” a total of 10 times and sang in chorus some songs of One Direction, but I must admit that if I felt anxious and wanted to start the concert at once.

When the concert started I started dancing and screaming like never before, I liked One Direction not only for their music because the members of the band always mentioned to people how important it is to be yourself, the inner beauty, you will never be alone, etc. In those years I was a victim of bullying and listening to the music of One Direction I felt free.

In that concert I could be myself and I felt that I could fly free, when the concert ended I had lost my voice from screaming so much and I spoke hoarse. When I left the Stadium the street were full of vendors selling their products at half price I restrained myself from buying anything before the concert because the prices of products are higher at that time.

I bought a scarf, a bracelet, some gloves and when my cousin’s friend’s father came to pick us up he gave us some ties. When we got at my home my mom made me some tea for my throat my voice was hoarse for about 3 days but it was worth it.
